What Gold looks after

Every component listed for this tier is explained below. Descriptions explain the component; they do not add a new benefit or settle the repair conditions.

RETAINED FROM THE PREVIOUS TIER

Also included: Boiler and heating controls

Gas-fired central heating boiler

The main appliance that heats water for the central-heating system. The applicable terms must define which boiler faults and repairs qualify.

Boiler flue

The route that carries combustion gases safely out of the building. Flue scope must be checked against the installation and current terms.

Boiler controls

Controls associated with operating the boiler. Check the treatment of integrated controls and separate control equipment.

Thermostats and heating controls

Devices used to set or manage heating temperatures. Thermostats and heating controls are listed separately in the original booklet.

Circulating pumps

Pumps that move heating water around the system. Pump configuration varies between installations.

Motorised valves

Valves that direct water flow to heating or hot-water zones. Their location and system role should be confirmed.

Time clock or programmer

A controller used to schedule heating or hot-water operation. The precise controller scope needs confirmation.

NEW AT THIS LEVEL

Added at this level: Wider heating and hot-water system

Hot-water feeds

Feed pipework associated with the hot-water system. The booklet does not establish every pipe boundary or fault condition.

Expansion tanks

Expansion tanks used within relevant heating or hot-water arrangements. The system survey should establish what equipment is fitted.

Hot-water cylinders

Cylinders that store hot water. This item is relevant where a cylinder is present; not every boiler system has one.

Immersion heaters

Electric heating elements fitted to a hot-water cylinder. This listing does not establish general electrical-system cover.

Radiators

Heat emitters connected to the central-heating system. Radiator type, condition and repair scope need checking.

Radiator valves

Valves fitted to radiators to control or isolate water flow. Confirm the applicable repair and replacement terms.

Heating pipes

Pipework used to circulate heating water. Access, concealed pipes and specific fault conditions need confirming.

Heating fittings

Connections and fittings associated with the heating pipework. Their precise scope depends on the current agreement.

Your questions answered

Does an annual service mean every fault is repaired?

No. Servicing and repair scope are different. Each plan lists an annual service; repairs depend on the plan components and current agreement. No unlimited-repair promise is made.

Are parts, labour and access costs included?

The source booklet does not settle every cost condition. Ask for the current written agreement covering parts, labour, excesses, claim limits and access before joining.

How quickly will someone attend?

No response-time guarantee is made in this guide. Confirm the current attendance arrangements and how an urgent fault should be reported.

What should I check before signing up?

Confirm the named plan, monthly price, minimum commitment, service timing, exclusions, waiting period, renewal and cancellation. Do not assume that paying monthly means there is no minimum term.
